tournament format

Our tournament format is designed to keep excitement levels high! Depending on the amount of teams participating we will do a random draw to determine how many teams each group will have on the group stage, followed by knockout round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the prestigious match for the glory of being the champion, every moment is packed with action.

WE WILL HAVE A  RANDOM DRAW THAT WILL DECIDE WHICH GROUP EACH TEAM GOES TO, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANY TEAM BE ABLE TO CHOOSE THE GROUP IN WHICH THEY WILL BE PLACED.

In the group stage, the teams in each group will face each other once and will try to collect as many points as possible in order to qualify for the next stage of the tournament, which would be the knock out round. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knock out round and depending on the amount of teams two best third places could advance to the knock out round as well.

• Each victory will add 3 points to the winning team.
• Each tie will add one point to each team.
• Losses do not add any points to the losing team.

In case that after all group stage games we have two or more teams with the same number of points, the goal difference will determine which team advances to the next round. If two or more teams have the same number of points and same goal difference after playing the three group stage games, they will have to shoot 3 penalty kicks each and the winner will advance to the next round.

KNOCK OUT ROUND

In the round knock out round, the teams will face off in the most challenging games of the tournament as the loser team will be eliminated. The rivals are determined according to the position in which the teams qualified after playing the three group stage matches.

FIRST PLACE IN GROUP C WILL FACE THE SECOND PLACE IN GROUP D

FIRST PLACE OF GROUP D WILL FACE THE SECOND PLACE OF GROUP C

FIRST PLACE OF GROUP E WILL FACE THE SECOND PLACE OF GROUP F

FIRST PLACE OF GROUP F WILL FACE THE SECOND PLACE OF GROUP E

In this phase of the tournament there is no extra time, if after regulation time a game ends in a tie, the teams will go directly to penalty kicks. In penalties kicks, only three penalties are awarded to each team, NOT FIVE as we are used to. Only winners will advance to the quarterfinals, winners of each game. If there are two teams tied in the number of goals conceded, they will have a penalty shootout of three penalties each team until one of the two misses.

In the quarterfinal phase the 8 qualified teams will be drawn once again to decide which team will face which. Only four teams will advance to the semifinal phase.
